Alarum ("the app") is developed by Aleksandar Milidrag. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Alarum iOS application.
The short version: Alarum collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Your alarms and any sounds you import stay on your iPhone. We could not see them if we wanted to, because there is nowhere for them to go.
None. Alarum has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no backend. We do not operate a server that receives data from the app.
Everything the app knows about you is stored locally on your iPhone and is included in your device backup if you have one enabled:
Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.
Alarms are scheduled through Apple's AlarmKit framework and run entirely on your device. This is a deliberate design decision, not only a privacy one: an alarm that depends on a server is an alarm that can fail to ring.
When you choose an audio file as an alarm sound, iOS gives the app access to that single file. Alarum converts it to a format the alarm system can play and stores the result in its own private folder. It does not read anything else, and it does not transmit the file.
Alarum is free. Every feature is available without paying. There is one optional purchase in Settings that unlocks nothing at all — it exists only for people who would like to support the app.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We never see your payment details, and no third-party payment or analytics provider is involved. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase was completed.
There are none. Alarum does not embed advertising, analytics, or attribution SDKs. It does not contact any service other than Apple's own, and that only for the optional purchase described above.
Alarum may ask permission to send notifications. Alarms themselves do not need this — they are handled by AlarmKit. There is no server behind the app, so no remote notification can be sent to you.
Alarum does not track you. It does not use the Advertising Identifier, does not build a profile, and does not share anything with data brokers or advertisers. The app does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it has nothing to ask for.
Alarum is safe for all ages. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA grant you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. To delete everything the app has stored, delete the app.
If Alarum ever changes in a way that affects this policy, it will be updated here and the date at the top will change. If a future version were ever to collect anything, you would be asked first.
